Moving Day

For those of you who don't know, Charles and I bought our first house. Yay! We have been getting it into shape before we moved in and now the dreaded time has come. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited to move in...I just hate all the work that comes along with it :(. It's definitely a high stress time for me and I don't think I'm coping so well. Anywho, back to the point...

I am putting out a cry for help. Anyone who doesn't have plans this Saturday (Jan. 26th) please feel free to come join us in moving all our belongings to the city of Orange. I'm certain it will be an all day event! There is plenty to do...loading, unloading and unpacking-even possibly some child/baby care. We'll be providing pizza (at some point in the day) and beverages. If you can make it, please let me know...or hell, just show up. Thanks!!

Spa day

For Mother's day pekoe200 was generous enough to give me a gc to Glen Ivy spas. I've already spoken to a few people about that and was planning a spa day on a friday in a couple of weeks. After looking over the brochure, I'm thinking that a Monday Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday would be better. For entry to the spa (not including any treatments) on M-Th it cost $35 while F-Su is $48. Whoever wants to go is invited, but I need help choosing an exact date so that workers can request the day off. I also need a list of treatments that you would want because I need to make sure we can schedule everyone in. For instance...I will be getting a 50 minute swedish massage, a 50 minute pedicure, and I really really want to check out the $25 grotto treatment. It sounds so cool. Ok, sorry I haven't gotten back about having a get together at the BH. I wasn't at home on Wed. and on Thurs. my time was divided between Quatro and the gimpy Charles. I don't know if you guys are still available, but I was thinking a simple sandwich/potatoe salad/chips night. We could play some games...The Game & Scene It are good group games. Let me know if you guys are interested :).

P.S. Sara-I won't be able to make it to your house warming party afterall *pout*. I'll still make the potato salad on Friday and have Heather bring it with her. I'm sorry.

Quatro's 2 month boosters

Today Quatro had a doctor's appointment to get his 2 month booster shots. There were five boosters with a total of three shots. I heard horror stories about babies and shots so begged Heather to go with me. She could hold the baby while I did the non mommyish stuff like brace myself for the cries. Needless to say he cried for a few long seconds. They were right about the scream being nothing compared to what I've heard. Although it broke my heart, I was proud that I didn't cry. Quatro is doing well, no fever so far. He got a bit fussy so we gave him some tylenol and he's enjoying his mobile now. Thanks for being there for me Heather :).

Ode to Sisters

So last night I made BBQ ribs for dinner. It was yummy! For some reason, after I ate I just couldn't seem to keep my eyes open. I grabbed the baby and went into the room to lie down. I swear I was in bed by 8 o'clock! At 1AM I got up to feed the baby and since Charles needs his sleep now I bring the baby out to the living room for his feedings. Actually this helps me too since I can watch TV to prevent me from falling back asleep while feeding him. Anywho, the point of this post...

The kitchen has been cleaned!! No food left out, no dishes piled up, no trash overflowing!! I immediately go in to thank Charles for his thoughtfulness. HA! You can tell already that I wasn't completely awake yet. Of course it wasn't Charles...although he said he thinks he may have taken the trash out. It was Heather. I love you Heather! You are the bestest. Thank you for cleaning up for me, it was a great surprise. Thank you for all your help with Quatro too, you've kept me sane :).

For all you people thinking about having babies...when you think how hard it will be, just remember that the support you receive from family and friends is amazing and makes it half as hard =o). Of course that's assuming you have as good a family and friends list as I do.

Mammoth weekend

Pekoe200 and I went on a trip to Mammoth this weekend with Maria, Anthony and Tino. Although it's a long drive (5 hours) it was well worth it. It's absolutely gorgeous and the sense of small town welcoming tourists is wonderful. Neither Charles or I participated in the snow sports due to a shortage in gear, but I watched Anthony have a blast with a sleigh (cheapy orange rubbermaid thing) and we got to utilize the extremely well organized public transportation to meet up with Maria and Tino for a ride on the Gondola....wait, aren't those the boat things in Venice?!

Anywho, I had such a good time even though I got acute mountain sickness (who knew pregnant women weren't suppose to go to high altitudes? Mammoth is 8,000 feet above sea level! Meh *shrug*) I'm thinking that after I pop I may invest in some gear so I can test my balance on a snow board. Maybe we'll plan a trip next season!

Poker Update

On Tuesday I went to visit Vincene. On Wed. evening she passed away. Aweful news, but I'm glad she isn't in any pain now. Her Wake is schedule for this evening at some point. This won't effect poker night, but I won't have time to make dinner. I'm just going to have some snacks instead. It works out since it's a later gathering so most will have eaten before arriving. If you won't have a chance to eat, I can dig and find something quick to hold you over.

P.S. The only people that didn't respond to my prior Poker Night posting is Sara & Keith. I know you guys aren't poker feigns, but you should come over for the conversation if you get bored.

Hey All! I'm back from Miami and in need of a small gathering to get back in touch with the friends I haven't seen for a month. Last night Charles, Heather and I went to Costco. One of our purchases happened to be a poker chip set so now Charles is whining about wanting to play poker. A poker game between 3 is just a tad too lame for me so I am trying to appease my husband and myself by throwing a small poker/dinner party sometime this weekend. Friday or Saturday evening would be best now that Charles has a job (THANK YOU MIGY!). I won't set an exact date til I get a little feedback to determine which would be better for everyone. I have spoken with the Dungeon Master about Charles' Birthday and he will not be getting home til 11ish. We were discussing making 12th level characters before the game so we can just play some hack and slash! I think it's a great idea since our current levels are quite varied and we haven't been playing very often.

Since I don't plan on grilling all night I will be ordering from Lucille's scrumptious menu. The party will start at 8:30 and D&D will begin at 10:30ish (depending on what time Office Depot lets out). Please RSVP so I buy enough yummy BBQ for all attending. Birthday time again...

August is right around the corner and we all know that means lots of birthday celebrations.

Starting us off is mforbes321 on 8/3rd. I realize that mondayfraggle was trying to pull together a spa day for the occassion, but since not everyone would be able to attend, I say we have a small celebration at the BHN. 8/3 lands on a Tuesday so maybe we should plan for this Friday. I was hoping we could do a casual dinner (pot luckish), cake and games. Old school games like "The Game", Cranium, Pictionary, or whatever the mood calls for. I would like to make Heather's oh so yummy Spaghetti with the veggies in the sauce and a vegetarian version for the guest of honor of course.

Anywho, let me know what you guys think. I know it's short notice.

Hey all, on July 18th the hubby and I are planning a trip to Vegas. I realize that it is on a Sunday and most people have to work on Mondays, but just in case anyone is interested in getting that day off, I thought I would go ahead and invite ya'll.
We will be leaving early Sunday morning and probably stay sunday night and come back monday evening...depending on what's going on. The plans are still semi up in the air so feel free to let me know if you are interested and just need to change things around a little bit. Since I'm not working and the hubster isn't working too much we are fairly flexible.
